Glutathione is an important endogenous antioxidant that is made up of the amino acids glutamic acid, cysteine and glycine. As an antioxidant, glutathione protects the body from the harmful effects of free radicals.
The body itself is able to regulate glutathione synthesis, and can produce more of this important antioxidant if required. However, various factors – such as excessive intake of harmful substances, high stress levels or a lack of other antioxidants in your diet – can lead to increased consumption of glutathione and cause deficiency states.
Our new product, S-Acetyl-Glutathione 100, offers great advantages over the reduced L-Glutathione. S-acetyl-glutathione is more resistant to stomach acid and digestive enzymes, is more effectively absorbed by the intestinal wall and enters the cells more easily than reduced glutathione. Overall, this leads to an up to 10-fold increase in intracellular glutathione levels.
